How to change my network card speed remotely?

The card speed is set by the hardware and firmware. While you may be able to upgrade the firmware if newer firmware is available, the hardware is not something you upgrade. This means the only way to increase a network card speed is to replace the card with a faster one. If you have a 100 Mbps card, you probably can replace it with a 1000 Mbps card.

Keep in mind that this only addresses speed on your Local Area Network. It does not increase the speed of your internet. The faster internet speeds approach 12 to 15 Mbps or slightly more than 10% of the LAN speed. How to change my network card speed remotely?
