How do I change my network settings from DHCP to manual? I have WINXP...Thank you!!?

1. Open Network Connections.

2. Right-click the network card you want to change, and then click Properties.

3. On the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

4. Click Properties to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box.

5.If you're setting up to use a manual address, click Use the following IP address and type the necessary information. You'll also need to know the correct DNS server address for your Internet service provider (or work network, if you're reconfiguring it to run at work). How do I change my network settings from DHCP to manual? Er, why do you want to do that?

Do you mean that you want to use 'static DHCP' to manually set your computer to a specific IP address on your network?

If you're using a router, you can do that through the router's web page settings. Read your manual on how to access the router's set up web pages. Then look for 'static DHCP' option. You'll probably have to enter the MAC address of your computer's network card and then set the specific IP address that you want to use. You'll find more information about this on your router manufacturer's web site. If you need more help, you should contact their technical support staff.
