How would you make 2 wireless routers be part of the same network?
What I mean is that if you connect to a network, both of the routers will Emmit the same signal of the same network. So it is like one amplifiers the other. I have one router in my living room and would like to have a new one in my study/office with a Network Drive connected to the Router. I would like to make sure that I would be able to access the Drive even though it is not on the Main Router. The reason I simply do not plug the network drive into the Router in my living room is because there is not enough space. I would like to know how to make a new router be part of the same network as my main network so I don't have to change network to access my Network Drive.How would you make 2 wireless routers be part of the same network?

Okay so I heard that you can buy any phone from any network for the full price and then take it to a network of your choice and they will upload your info to the phone no questions asked. I have the sidekick 3 now and I hate the network and though I have another year on the phone it is breaking ( I don't have warranty) and I want a new one. What I was going to do was not cancel the contract and have to pay a cancellation fee, but bring down all the minutes to nothing and cancel internet, and basically everything else. This way I can pay the phone out and not really pay for it... So my questions are:

2.) Should I just go to AT%26amp;T or buy the iPhone and take it over to Verizon and open a contract that way?

You should look out for any changes in tmobile, because in their contract(im pretty sure) it states that if they change their prices and it effects you in a negative way, that you can cancel your contract without ETF.
If you chose to cancel your contract with tmobile then you could port your number(move it to the iphone) but if you're not going to cancel then it wont work.
You should probably check the cancellation fee for tmobile; i heard they were the most flexible, and that they were the first to make a plan with no ETF. Also they might have a prorated ETF which means it will be less than normal since you finished one year of your contract.

If you mean use that phone with your o2 number, then you MAY have to get the phone unlocked,which can be anything from 拢10 to 拢50. If the phones unlocked then just take orange sim out and put the o2 sim in and that should be you ready to go.Mobile Network Change :)...?

Okay, this may be a bit lengthy, but I will do my best to explain. Your router assigns IP addresses to computers connected to it via DHCP (Dynamic Host Client Protocol). When you change its settings to Static IP, this means that you have to set the settings which are normally automatically assigned to your computer by yourself.
Now this is not bad, this does have benefits, such as being able to set the port forward to a certain IP and not have to worry about another computer connected to your router getting assigned your IP and hence your computer does not get the port forwarded.
If you only have one computer connected to your router, then you do not need to assign a static IP. However if you want to use static IP address then please follow these steps:
1. First set your router to use DHCP, not static IP.
2. Click Start -%26gt; Control Panel.
3. Select Network and Internet connections.
4. Select network connections.
5. Right click Local Area Connection and click status.
6. Click on the support tab.
7. Click details.
8. Copy down your IP address, subnet mask, DNS servers and default gateway on a piece of paper.
9. Set your router to static IP.
10. Repeat steps 2-4.
11. Right click local area connection and select properties.
12. Under the ';this connection uses the following items';, select Internet protocol TCP/IP and double click on it.
13. Select use the following IP address and type the things you copied onto that piece of paper.
14. Select use the following DNS servers and copy the things you wrote on the piece of paper.

17. Configure your router to forward the port to the IP address you assigned.

K, socket 939 refers to the socket that the CPU plugs into. From the sound of things, you have an onboard network adapter. You are not going to be able to swap it out for something else. You can install a new network card in a PCI slot. If you feel the need you can also disable the onboard network adapter in the BIOS.

Changing network password?
I posted a question earlier about my lost wireless network password. It's a d-link wireless. I was wondering whether I could log on to the system i typed 192.168.0.1 into my internet browser. Then I went somewhere (don't ask how) and I got to wireless settings. The WEP (is that the same thing) comes up as a bunch of dots. Would it be possible for me to simply change what's there. As in type in a random word to be my password? I don't want to reset it and have in unsecured because I don't have my manual to reset my network. What should I do?
I sincerely appreciate all the help, I'm no tech wiz, im taking this slowly but my new notebook is waiting to be added to my network! =(Changing network password?

Hi guys I have looked on t'net a bit and can't find a good solution, it's only a small thing but every time I reset my laptop my network changes from being ';Private'; to ';Public'; again.
It just means that for things like media sharing, etc I have to go in and change it every time. No biggy but I was wondering does anyone else get this too? And is there a way to stop it? Thanks in advance you clever people ^_^How do I stop vista resetting my network each restart?
This problem can mean many things, odds are the problem is with the operating system itself. I'm going to give you some instruction of some things I would do if I was working on this computer.
Questions you should consider:
Do you get any error messages? If so contact Microsoft with the error message.
Is you computer under warranty? If so, it's best to let a technician handle the problem. Note: Sometimes they will reformat or replace your hard drive. You could loose all data so it would be a good idea to backup first.
Re-pare Steps:
1) Restart Windows in Safe Mode. As you computer is restarting, hold down F8 and once the menu appears, select Safe Mode using the arrow key and selecting by pressing enter. Note: If windows does not boot in safe mode then seek help from a train technician, the problem may be too complex to go into decision in the message.
2) Consider a system restore. You will loose all data and changes you have made to your computer after the restore date. Open system restore by clicking on the start menu and selecting help and support. System restore should be one of the options assuming you have system restore turned on. (It's windows default so you should.) Select a restore date prior to the problem occurrence. Restore your PC. If you do not want to do a system restore then skip this step.
3) Update any and all ad-ware, spy-ware, and most importantly, Registry Cleaner programs that are running on you computer.

I'm sure they will have a plan to suit you whereby you can call other 02 friends for free. On the top of the page it says 'Networks' with a drop-down arrow right next to it. Click on the drop-down arrow and go to the bottom of the menu that comes up where it says 'Join a Network.' Then click on the network you want to join. Some networks will require another person to confirm that you are a part of that network, but it should show up.
