You will need the password. If someone set the router up for you, they should know it, but if you never changed it, the default password for the Airport Extreme is ';admin'; (without the quotations) with no username.
Once you are in the settings, you should be able to simply change the SSID from there.

You will need the password. If someone set the router up for you, they should know it, but if you never changed it, the default password for the Airport Extreme is ';admin'; (without the quotations) with no username.
Once you are in the settings, you should be able to simply change the SSID from there.

well. theoretically you're SUPPOSED to be able to unlock it and activate it on another cdma network just like on gsm. but since the way the phone authenticates is static ( meaning stays with the phone unlike the simcard which moves from phone to phone ) and in the US carriers have to register each esn/meid with the e911 registry, and since they want to be lazy AND make sure you only phones from them, they won't allow it. so technically yes you can but the companies ( for the most part ) won't let you although my friend took his LG Dare to cricket so that might be your best bet; to call around carriers to see if they will take your chocolate although you can get a really nice phone free on sprint; metropcs cricket us cellular or someone else. alltel would be useless because you might as well stay on verizon. i suggest tmobile because they have lots of great free phones and cheap plans and they have flexpay which lets you pay like prepay and get a regular plan like on pay monthly.

A few install disks have a wizard that attempts to automate the configuration process however it is NOT necessary. My neighbors figured out the password to my network so now they always use my internet connection whenever they need to use their Itouch. How do i change it?How do you change your network password?

On a Linksys network router, the exact steps may vary depending on the model of router you are using.
1) Log in to the admin console using a browser like IE or Firefox. Use your current password and username. Linksys routers typically use http://192.168.1.1 as ';le pro d'; said.

Hi , I m using BSNL broadband connection. I have rented BSNL's Modem (Type 2) which has WiFi facility. But i use the internet through my Desktop PC and i do not use My laptop for internet usage. So i wanted to know how do i disable the WiFi facility for the modem (that is, I want to disable the SSID signal from being broadcasted). I do not want anybody to detect the Wifi signal.

I would suggest that you keep using your Wifi. Its very useful to be without wires.

I have a wireless connection at my hotel and both wireless and cable connection at the office. In Internet Explorer just go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Then click on the Connections tab. At the bottom of the dialog box it will have a LAN Settings button. Click on that and then click to put a check mark in the Automatically Detect Settings check box under Automatic Configuration. Press OK on all the open dialog boxes and you should be good to go. You might have to restart IE to make the change permanent, but after that it will detect however you are connected and get you on line without having to do anything.
By wireless connection are you using a router, satellite or WiFi?
You should not have to change net work connection settings. In task tray just right click on computer icon and choose the wireless connection that you wish to use. When you right click on icon in task tray you can also click on view available wireless connections and it will tell you what is available in what ever location you are at. For cable, DSL and dial up there should be a short cut created on start screen and then all you do is double click it and connect. You can have multiple connections set up and use any by just clicking on the icon for the one you wish to use and never have to change configurations each time. Just go to your Internet service provider and they will guide you through each set up. In Internet Explorer and fire Fox click on tools, Internet options, connection tab. put check mark in box use any.

Change network file names??
I have a home network and access files off my desktop with my laptop. I cane see and access the files on the desktops drive. I have an external hard drive on the desktop and it is shared. I can acess those files as well. I can not change file names on the external hard drive. I get the error message that make sure file is not write protected or in use. I'm trying to connect a printer to my wireless network and this is all WAY over my head. I have the SSID, but I'll need the Network Key won't I? This was set up years ago by GeekSquad and I don't have anything written down anywhere. If I go to ';change network settings'; can I just type a new password in ';Network Key'; and confirm in ';Confirm Network Key';? Or, will changing this password in ';Network Key'; mess with everything and the computer will ask me to type in the right password (which I do not know and have now just removed)?

Go to My Computer, right click on the icon, go to Properties, go to Computer Name tab, then hit Change, under Computer Name field, enter what you want your name to be. Hit OK until you get back out to the desktop; it will tell you that you need to reboot. Do so to effect the change; when it boots up, the PC name will now be what you changed it to.

I just got the people in the vodaphone shop to do it all for me. I just had to confirm my identity with 3phone.. then they took care of the rest.

Call your current network operator. Ask for your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) if you are on pay as you go or outside of your current contract period it is free. The PAC is valid for 30 days, so you have to give it to your new network provided within this time, if not your line will stay active with your current provider.
It takes 2 working days to transfer your mobile numer over. Once this has been done your old sim is disconected from your old network provider. If you were on a contract you will get a final bill from your old network provider.
