I'm moderately new to Linux, and recently managed to put Ubuntu on my laptop, and in the process of converting other computers i manage to Ubuntu. the only problem I've had this far is that all of the computers identify as 'ubuntu', and I'd like to change them to something more unique than an IP address.
Does anyone know how to change the computer name? I've been looking, but can't find anything so farChange Network computer name in linux?
type this into the terminal: sudo vi /etc/hostname
it will let you change the name
