How can i change my network from verizon to altell or something??! please help?

so, i have a LG chocolate and i have a prepaid plan. it doenst have a sim card because its a CDMA phone, and i wanted to switch from verizon to alltel or something. is that possible? like just changing the network of my phone? is there some kind of code? How can i change my network from verizon to altell or something??! please help?
well. theoretically you're SUPPOSED to be able to unlock it and activate it on another cdma network just like on gsm. but since the way the phone authenticates is static ( meaning stays with the phone unlike the simcard which moves from phone to phone ) and in the US carriers have to register each esn/meid with the e911 registry, and since they want to be lazy AND make sure you only phones from them, they won't allow it. so technically yes you can but the companies ( for the most part ) won't let you although my friend took his LG Dare to cricket so that might be your best bet; to call around carriers to see if they will take your chocolate although you can get a really nice phone free on sprint; metropcs cricket us cellular or someone else. alltel would be useless because you might as well stay on verizon. i suggest tmobile because they have lots of great free phones and cheap plans and they have flexpay which lets you pay like prepay and get a regular plan like on pay monthly.

hope i could help :]How can i change my network from verizon to altell or something??! please help?
if you switch to alltel your gunna have verizon january 1st cuz there coming together and alltel SUX!!!!
Well there's a big Business in the black market they change your phones carrier illegally, to another one.
if you have verizon inpulse (prepaid) for only $20 a month you can get unlimited text, messaging, picture messaging, video messagining to anybody, any network,in the u.s.a.

Dial *611, select Additional Options, then select the option for calling plans and features and follow the prompts for changing optional features.
