Change wireless network name?

I have a WRT54GS linksys router, I need to change the default name (linksys) to something else. Our neighbors have the same router, and it is on default and sometimes it connects to theres, and our internet connection is screwed because our network keys are different.

So how do I change it?Change wireless network name?
configure your routerChange wireless network name?
log in by typing it's ip address in the browser address bar, as in the manual. Go to the wireless section and set your own ssid. Also change channel. You will then need to use each machine's wireless utility to find your network, set matching encryption and connect. Remove the old profile for linksys.
You will need to login to the router configuration page.

To do this you will need to find the IP address of the router this is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.

1. Open your web browser and enter http://192.168.1.1 (or whatever the ip address is) and press enter.

2. You will be prompted to enter a username and password the default username is ';admin'; and the default password is ';admin';.

3. You should now have a Wireless option on the top bar. Click on that to enter the Wireless settings.

4. You will see a box ';Wireless Network Name (SSID)'; which will contain the current network name - simply delete this and enter another name.

5. Click on Save Settings to apply the change (note you may need to restart the wireless AP and/or the router).

Now you need to go around all your wireless computers and connect them to the new network name - remember to go into the wireless settings and delete any old associated access points or it may still try to connect to your neighbours system.
